Nursery & Pre School
From our carefully designed baby rooms to our free-flowing preschool spaces, each stage of your child’s journey is thoughtfully supported by our passionate and experienced team. Our woodland, gardens, and outdoor learning areas are at the heart of our ethos, offering rich, hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity, independence, and confidence. Toddlers
Our Toddler Unit is designed for children aged 2 to 3 years, providing a stimulating and supportive environment where growing independence and confidence are gently encouraged. The unit consists of three engaging playrooms: our small world room, a main room shaped around the children’s current interests, and a physical and dry mark-making room that supports movement and early writing skills. Toddlers also benefit from a dedicated sleep room and a separate dining room, creating a calm and structured routine throughout the day.
Free Flow
Within the Toddler Unit, we introduce a free flow system, allowing children to move freely between the rooms and the garden spaces. This approach encourages children to make their own choices, supporting independence and confidence within a safe, secure, and well-supervised environment. It also helps to prepare them for a smooth transition into preschool, where independence continues to grow.
Activities and Outdoor Learning
Outdoor play is an essential part of our daily routine, and toddlers access our outdoor areasin all types of weather. This provides rich, natural learning experiences that support physical development, curiosity, and a connection to the world around them.
Activities are carefully planned around each child’s individual learning needs and interests. Our staff support and encourage exploration, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to develop across all areas of learning. Through a balance of adult-led and child-initiated experiences, we create an environment where children feel confident to explore, discover, and thrive.
Pre School
Our Pre-School Unit is designed for children aged 3 to 5 years, providing a vibrant, engaging environment that encourages independence, confidence, and a love of learning. The unit operates a free choice, free flow approach all year round, allowing children to move seamlessly between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The environment includes a large open-plan playroom, thoughtfully divided into designated areas such as role play, quiet space, construction, small world, and messy play. Children alsohave access to a covered deck, a spacious outdoor play area, and a physical garden, all designed to support active, hands-on learning.
Activities and Outdoor Learning
Our pre-school children enjoy daily access to the outdoors in all weather conditions, offering rich and meaningful opportunities to explore the world around them. This approach provides natural, engaging learning experiences that support all areas of development.
Through free flow play, children are encouraged to make independent choices within a safe and secure environment. This supports the development of confidence, resilience, and strong decision-making skills, helping to prepare them for their transition to school.
Play-Based Learning
Play is at the heart of everything we do. It is through play that children learn, grow, and make sense of the world around them. Our play-based approach supports social and emotional development, builds confidence, and encourages independence.
Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we provide stimulating and challenging environments where children are motivated to explore, discover, and achieve. Above all, we ensure that every child is happy, engaged, and enjoying their learning journey as they prepare for the next stage of their education.
Babies & Waddlers
Our Baby & Waddler Unit provides a nurturing, calm, and stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 18 months. Your baby’s well-being is at the heart of everything we do,and through the loving care of our experienced and attentive staff, each child is supported to feel safe, secure, and confident as they begin to explore the world around them.
The Rooms
Our babies are based on the first floor of the main house, where they have access to four thoughtfully designed playrooms: sensory, physical, messy, and a main room which evolves around the children’s current interests. In addition, we provide a dedicated sleep room to ensure restful, uninterrupted sleep, and a separate dining room where mealtimes are calm, comfortable, and enjoyable.
Activities
Activities are carefully planned around the prime areas of development and each child’s individual interests. We offer a wide variety of experiences including songs, stories, construction play, activity gyms, moving toys, sensory exploration, physical play, and outdoor experiences. These opportunities are designed to encourage curiosity, exploration, and early development in a fun and engaging way.
Routine
We understand that continuity and consistency are essential for very young children. We work closely with parents to mirror home routines as much as possible, ensuring a smooth and reassuring experience for your baby. Our staff will take time to discuss your child’s individual needs and preferences, providing personalised care that supports their well-being and development throughout the day.
