Tipi & Woodland
Tipi & Woodland
Our Tipi & Woodland area provides a rich, inspiring outdoor environment where children can explore, learn, and thrive through hands-on experiences in nature.
Rooted in the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), this space supports all areas of learning and development, encouraging children to become confident, curious, and resilient learners.
Within our natural surroundings, children are given the freedom to take supported risks, solve problems, and develop independence. Whether building dens, exploring woodland materials, or gathering in the tipi for stories and reflection, each experience nurtures key skills across the EYFS, including communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development.
The tipi offers a warm, safe, and calming space where children can come together to share stories, enjoy group activities, and develop a sense of belonging. It also provides opportunities for quiet reflection, supporting emotional wellbeing and self-regulation.
Through regular access to the Woodland environment, children deepen their understanding of the world around them, developing respect for nature and an awareness of seasons, wildlife, and sustainability. Our practitioners carefully support and extend children’s learning, following their interests and encouraging exploration, creativity, and critical thinking.
Our tipi and woodland area are more than just outdoor spaces—they are environments where children build confidence, develop essential life skills, and foster a lifelong love of learning.
